Hello, heroes! أهلًا بيكم في الوحدة الخامسة: Our World, Our Resources — عالمنا ومواردنا. وأول درس: The Gifts of Nature. ستّ موارد طبيعية: sunlight — ضوء الشمس. water — المية. soil — التربة. minerals — معادن، بلّورات ومعادن زي الدهب والنحاس. wind — الريح. fossil fuel — الوقود الأحفوري، زي البترول والفحم. وكلمات مهمة: natural resources — الموارد الطبيعية، حاجات من الطبيعة بتساعدنا نعيش. fertile — خصبة، أرض تربتها غنيّة نقدر نزرع فيها أكل. electricity — الكهربا، الطاقة اللي بتشغّل البيوت والآلات. cotton — القطن، نبات أبيض ناعم بنعمل منه القماش. ودلوقتي نسمع «Treasures of Egypt» — مستر هاني وتلاميذه: Mr. Hani: Today, we will talk about natural resources. Do you know what natural resources are? Ali: Yes! They are things we find in nature, like water and trees. Mr. Hani: Can you name a natural resource we can find in Egypt? Mona: The Nile River! It provides water for drinking and farming. Mr. Hani: The Nile is the most important water resource in Egypt. What other treasures does Egypt have? Ali: We have oil and natural gas. My uncle works for an oil company. Mr. Hani: Oil and natural gas are used to make fuel and electricity. What about farming? Mona: We grow cotton, wheat, and many kinds of fruit. Mr. Hani: The fertile land along the Nile and in the Delta region helps us grow food. Ali: I read that Egypt has minerals, too, like gold! Mr. Hani: Egypt's deserts contain gold, iron, and other minerals, as well. Mona: They're used to make jewelry, make buildings, and help our country grow. And now, let's practise!

💡 Look at this: a football pitch itself needs natural resources! The grass needs water and fertile soil to grow green, and sunlight to make it strong. The night floodlights shine with electricity, made from fossil fuel or from wind. And even your jersey? Made from cotton — one of Egypt's gifts!
