Body language is about fifty-five percent of what we communicate. You cannot hide it, and trying makes it worse.

لغة جسدنا جزء كبير من طريقة تواصلنا. وضع الذراعين، وتعبير الوجه، كلاهما يقول ما نشعر به في الداخل. ومحاولة إخفاء ذلك تجعل الأمر أسوأ. أفضل ما يمنع لغة الجسد السلبية هو أن تعرف أصلًا أن لغة الجسد عامل كبير في نقل معلوماتك — فهي تشكّل نحو خمسة وخمسين في المئة ممّا نقوله في تواصلنا. ولأننا لا نستطيع إخفاءها، فعلينا أن نبذل جهدًا في التعامل مع مشاعرنا وأحاسيسنا قبل أن ندخل في حديث مع أحد. فعدم التعامل معها يرسل رسالة خاطئة إلى من أمامك، وقد لا تكون لها أي علاقة به. وفي الدرس التالي سنحدّد بعض إشارات لغة الجسد السلبية التي قد نرسلها دون قصد.
Before you start
Omar, this lesson is about the largest part of your message in any meeting: your body language. The key figure is fifty-five percent, meaning your arm position and facial expression carry more than your words do. We start from the fact that this cannot be hidden, so it is better handled before you speak.
💡 Picture a meeting that has overrun, then a colleague comes in to ask about a report due at four. You are annoyed about the delay, so you sit with folded arms and a tense expression. The colleague reads that fifty-five percent and concludes the problem is him or his question, though he has nothing to do with it. The fix is to take a moment before replying: unfold your arms, soften your expression, then speak.
